The next day the head of the FA received a ransom note instructing him to place a coded message in the personal section of the Evening News and to ready a ransom payment of 15,000 pounds.

He requested weekly wages of 200 pounds and would stay in local hotels before disappearing without paying his bills when his lies were uncovered.
Eventually, the producers of a TV program tracked Zarrelli down and invited him to a meeting pretending to be scouts. After the Italian went through his usual routine, talking about spells at Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday, the producers revealed that they had hoaxed the hoaxer. Zarrelli is apparently still playing age thirty two having featured for six different teams in 2016 alone. It might be time to give up on the dream alessandro.
