The crest of Liverpool FC based upon the cormorant Liver bird. The Liver bird is not a real bird which actually comes from 1600. At the top of the crest is a Shankly gates which is rated in 1972 at the entrance of Anfield main car park. The famous anthem 'Never Walk Alone' is included in a crest with the founding date of 1892. The two torches of either side of the logo are just explained honoring the memory of the victim of Hillsborough disaster.

The Everton and Liverpool rivalry is from the founding of Liverpool FC. The matches between the two sides are called Merseyside derby. The stadium of both clubs are less than 1 mile which helps this rivalry as proximity is a great ingredient to rivalry. Though the clubs are always been a rivals, the rivalry didn't really heed up till 1980 when both sides became very successful in England and Europe. The two clubs have played with each other over 230 times.

The rivalry with Manchester United stands from a natural rivalry between the cities of Liverpool and Manchester. The accommodation between the cities being rivals and the two most successful clubs in England has helped them to be the most fearless rivalry.

Important Event:
Liverpool has many important events in the club history.
  • On 29 May 1985, Liverpool played against Juventus in the Champions League in Brussels, Belgium. Before the match, there were calls from both the teams. During the match, a section of Liverpool fans rushed on the section of Juventus fans. The rush of people forced the stand to collaps. The collaps and crush of people caused 39 death, mainly Juventus fans. But the match actually continued and Juventus won by 1-0. From the fall out of the tragedy, the English Clubs are being banned from European Competitions for 5 seasons.
  • On 15 April, 1989, 96 Liverpool fans were killed at the Heysel stadium in Sheffield at Liverpool's FA Cup Semifinal match. For years, Police blames fans for causing the crush. However, Liverpool fans have always maintained that the police and the authority were responsible for the safety on that day.
  • On 28 May 2005, Liverpool played with AC Milan in the finals of the Champions League in Istanbul, Turkey. It was club's first European finals since heysel disaster. After much dramatic incident, Liverpool FC won the match.
